Before founding Julie Boden Adams Employment Law, PLLC, Julie Boden Adams served as Associate General Counsel and Director of the Global Practice at New York University, the largest private university in the United States with over 19,000 employees. As an experienced employment attorney, she was a key employment advisor to NYU for more than ten years, negotiating hundreds of offer letters, separation agreements, and various contracts. Immediately prior to her role at NYU, Julie practiced in the Labor and Employment Group at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP, where she provided counsel to employers on a wide range of employment law issues, including hiring, disciplining, and terminating employees and independent contractors; personnel policies; and addressing allegations of discrimination and harassment, alongside conducting internal investigations. She also focused on legal and regulatory compliance and reductions in force, drafting and negotiating employment agreements, confidentiality clauses, restrictive covenants, and separation agreements. Additionally, Julie served as Assistant University Counsel at Long Island University, where she established the university's first in-house employment position. In this role, she advised and trained university administration, including officers and human resources personnel, on employment-related matters such as contract interpretation, payroll and benefit tax issues, as well as disability and reasonable accommodation laws. Julie’s track record highlights her sharp focus on achieving solutions for clients while ensuring compliance with applicable employment law, regulations, rules, and policies. She consistently manages time-sensitive and complex issues, approaching challenges with collaboration, poise, and good humor.
